An absolute icon of 20th-century design, the Wassily chair (Model B3) represents one of modernity's most radical breakthroughs. In this rare version, the chrome-plated tubular steel frame is combined with a high-quality black fabric upholstery, fully expressing the purity of the original design.

Design and History

Designed in 1925 by Marcel Breuer, the Wassily chair was inspired by the frame of the Adler bicycle, from which it derives its innovative use of seamless tubular steel.

The geometric, essential, and continuous structure supports the taut surfaces of the seat and backrest, creating an almost suspended lightness. The result is an object that perfectly embodies the principles of the Bauhaus: functionality, transparency, and industrial production.

It is considered the first domestic chair made entirely of tubular steel, a gesture that marked the beginning of modern design.
