Sven Ivar Dysthe

Sven Ivar Dysthe was one of the leading figures of post-war Scandinavian design, capable of reinterpreting Nordic modernism with a more structured and international language. Born in 1931, he worked between Norway and Sweden, making a decisive contribution to the evolution of Nordic design towards more architectural and rigorous forms, without sacrificing functionality and comfort.

His works, often created in collaboration with companies such as Dokka Møbler, are distinguished by the balance between natural materials and geometric structures, where wood and metal interact with great elegance. Considered a bridge between Scandinavian tradition and European modernism, Dysthe left a lasting mark on 20th-century design.
