Aluminium Chair EA 108 – Designed by Charles and Ray Eames for ICF

The famous Aluminium Chair EA 108, designed in 1958 by Charles and Ray Eames and offered in a valuable ICF production from the 1980s. Considered one of the most important design icons of the 20th century, this chair represents a perfect balance between technical innovation, comfort, and formal essentiality. In this version, it is finished with a polished aluminum frame and original aqua green Hopsack fabric upholstery.

Initially designed for the residence of entrepreneur and collector J. Irwin Miller, the Aluminium Chair revolutionized the concept of seating thanks to a design intuition as simple as it was innovative: the upholstery is stretched between two aluminum side profiles, becoming an integral part of the structure itself. This solution allows the chair to adapt naturally to the body, offering exceptional comfort without resorting to voluminous padding. Conditions

The chair is in good general condition. The polished aluminum structure is perfectly solid and stable and retains its original brilliance thanks to a recent cleaning and polishing. The original aqua green Hopsack fabric upholstery has been professionally washed and sanitized and shows some slight signs of use consistent with its age. The rotation mechanism is perfectly functional and smooth.
