“Barcelona” Daybed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe for Knoll.

Designed in 1930 for Philip Johnson and presented in 1931 at the Bauausstellung in Berlin, the Barcelona Daybed is one of the masterpieces of international Modernism, still produced today according to original Knoll standards.

The structure is made of walnut-stained solid wood with leather straps and stainless steel legs. The flame-retardant foam mattress provides great comfort and is upholstered in high-quality chocolate-colored leather, consisting of 72 hand-cut and sewn panels. The headrest, in the same leather color, is adjustable.

This example is in excellent condition: the wood and steel structure is perfectly preserved, and the leather upholstery is free of defects or imperfections, as shown in the photos.

Its authenticity is confirmed by the printed Knoll inner lining and the KnollStudio stamping on one of the frame's legs.
