Tobia e Afra Scarpa
Architect and designer Tobia Scarpa graduated from the University of Venice in 1969 and won the Compasso d'Oro award that same year for his "Soriana" armchair designed for Cassina. Since then, he has received numerous other design awards, and several of his projects are exhibited in some of the world's leading museums, including his "Libertà" chair, now on display at the Louvre. As an architect, he has worked for both public and private clients, including the Benetton Group, for which he designed the industrial area and production facilities in Castrette di Villorba (Treviso). Even today, the Benetton factories are considered an example of aesthetic and functional excellence, one of the most exciting pieces of industrial architecture in the world.
